How the Cup works
Drops, the exact arithmetic behind them, why Me time gives instead of takes, and what the Cup screen shows.
The Cup is a day's worth of energy, measured in drops. You start the day with a full cup, tasks spend drops as you complete them, and rest puts drops back.
The arithmetic, in full
Drops left is your daily total, minus the cost of everything you have completed, plus anything you have logged as a refill. It never goes below zero and never above your daily total.
The word completed is doing real work in that sentence. Planning a heavy day does not empty your Cup. Doing it does.
Me time gives instead of takes
Completing a task in the Me time category adds a drop rather than spending one. That is on purpose. The twenty minutes you keep giving away is the thing that refills the cup, so the app counts it that way.
