Junie's check-ins, and turning them off

When she asks how a task went, what the buttons do, the quiet hours, and every way to switch them off.

If a task has a time, is not in the Work category, and has Junie checks in on this switched on, Junie asks about it twice.

Five minutes after it was meant to start
Did you get started on X? with Yes, I did and Not yet. Not yet pushes the task half an hour later and says nothing more about it.
Twenty minutes after it was meant to end
Did you get to X? with Yes, done, Not today, and Another day.

Me time tasks get the finish check but no start nudge. Nobody needs to be chased into a bath.

If several pile up

You get one digest card instead of a stack of them, with a tick and a tray button on each row and a Move all to Another Day at the bottom. Things that have been sitting on the Shelf since before today get folded into the same card, at most once a day.

Quiet hours

Nothing checks in outside your waking hours. Out of the box that means nothing before 7am or from 8pm onwards, and both ends are yours to move in Settings > Notifications if your day starts earlier or runs later.

Three ways to turn them off

  • All of them: Settings > Notifications > Junie keeps me accountable.
  • One task: open the task and switch off Junie checks in on this.
  • A whole category: give it the Work category. Work never gets check-ins.

When the app is open in front of you, check-ins appear as cards from Junie rather than as banners. Answering in one place cancels the other, so you never answer the same thing twice.
