Every notification plottwist sends
The five kinds, when each one fires, the quiet hours, and the two switches that control them.
Everything plottwist sends is a local notification, made and scheduled on your own iPhone. There is no push server, and nothing about your day leaves the phone in order to remind you of it.
The five kinds
- Evening wind-down
- 8:00pm every day. Tells you the hard part of the day is behind you and whatever is left can wait.
- Coming up
- 15 minutes before any protected item that has a time, is not done, and is not shelved.
- Start check-in
- 5 minutes after something was meant to start. Has Yes, I did and Not yet buttons on the notification itself.
- Finish check-in
- 20 minutes after something was meant to end. Has Yes, done and Not today.
- Shelf reminder
- 9:00am the morning after a Plot Twist parked things, saying how many are waiting. Once, not daily.
The switches
Settings > Notifications > Evening check-in & remindersSettings > Notifications > Junie keeps me accountable- Per task:
Junie checks in on this, in the Edit task sheet, for anything with a time that is not Work.
Quiet hours
Check-ins only schedule inside the hours set in Settings > Notifications, which start out as 7am to 8pm. plottwist also asks iOS for alerts and sound but not for a badge, so the app icon never wears a red number.
When the app is open in front of you, check-ins appear as cards from Junie instead of banners, and answering in one place cancels the other.
