What plottwist is
A daily planner for days that do not go to plan, plus an honest list of what it does not do.
plottwist is a daily planner for iPhone. It was built for moms, and for anyone whose days rarely go the way they were written down.
Most planners assume the plan holds and treat you badly when it does not. plottwist assumes it will not. Everything in the app follows from that one idea.
The four things it does differently
- One calm timeline. Your whole day is a single vertical rail, from early morning to late evening. You drag things to move them and tap them to check them off. There are no lists inside lists.
- Energy, not just hours. The Cup gives you a set number of drops for the day. Tasks cost drops as you finish them. Rest puts drops back.
- A button for when it falls apart. Tell the Plot Twist button what just happened and it redeals the rest of your day around it. You see the before and the after, and nothing moves until you approve it.
- Nothing turns red. Anything you cannot get to moves to the Shelf and waits. plottwist has no overdue state at all.
What it deliberately does not do
- It never writes to your calendar. Calendar access is read-only, with no exception.
- It does not score you. The Ledger counts what you carried, it does not grade it, and there are no streaks.
- It does not nag at night. Check-ins stay inside the hours you set, 7am to 8pm until you change them.
- It is not a shared family calendar and not a team tool. It is your day.
What you need
- An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. plottwist is an iPhone app in portrait. There is no iPad, Mac, Android, or web version.
- Sign in with Apple, which carries your membership and lets Junie use her full brain.
- An iCloud account, if you want your days to appear on more than one iPhone.
