Getting a copy of your data

Where the export button hides, what is in the file, and why it never touches our servers.

Go to Settings > Delete my data, then tap Download a copy first.

The export button lives inside the delete sheet, which is the only place it lives. Tapping it does not delete anything. You can take a copy and then tap Keep my account, and nothing at all will have happened to your data.

What you get

A file called plottwist-my-data.json, handed to the standard iOS share sheet so you can save it to Files, mail it to yourself, or drop it in iCloud Drive.

Inside it:

• Your days and every task on them
• Your energy events, meaning what you spent and what refilled you
• Your invisible work entries
• Your chat messages, with any ratings you gave them

It never routes through us

Because your data lives on your phone, the file is assembled on your phone. There is no upload, no request to a server, and no waiting on an email. See where your data lives.
