Logging invisible work

The five kinds of invisible work, why nothing is detected automatically, and the card you can hand your partner.

The Invisible work card is for the part of the day that never becomes a task: the appointment you remembered to book, the school form you signed at 11pm, the mood you talked somebody down from.

How to log it

On the Ledger tab, tap Log invisible work. There are five kinds:

  • Appointments booked
  • School forms remembered
  • Things nobody asked you to track
  • Meals planned
  • Feelings soothed

One tap each. The empty state says it plainly: the things only you track.

Nothing is detected for you

There is no clever inference here, and that is on purpose. plottwist does not read your messages, your email, or your contacts to guess at your mental load. If you did not log it, it is not counted, which also means the number on the card is one you can stand behind.

The partner card

At the bottom of the Ledger is a card with the count, the phrase things you carried this week, and the words Seen. Counted. Yours. The Show your partner button shares it as plain text, so it goes into a message or an email without needing anyone to install anything.
